What Different Toronto Budgets Actually Get You

These listings show just how dramatically Toronto real estate changes as the budget increases.

Around $400,000, buyers are mainly looking at smaller condos.

Between roughly $575,000 and $650,000, buyers can start finding larger condos in areas like Humber Bay Shores, including properties with lake views, balconies, parking and dens.

At just over $1 million, this particular group of listings moves into detached-home territory with the Roncesvalles property.

The $1.3 million range is especially interesting because buyers can choose between very different lifestyles. Nearly the same budget can buy a multi-bedroom century home near the Danforth or a large downtown condo with a massive private terrace.

Closer to $2 million, more space, newer construction and larger lots start showing up.

And once the budget gets close to $3 million, these listings include custom-built properties, garden suites, larger lots and homes in some of Toronto’s more expensive neighbourhoods.

Of course, these are asking prices, not final selling prices, and active listings can be repriced, sold or removed at any time.
